From 21 to 25 January, 1998, Cuba witnessed an event of unquestionable historical significance. It was not necessary to be a Catholic to attend as a privileged spectator one of the most anticipated events for Cubans: the arrival of Pope John Paul II.
Thousands of national and foreign journalists, cameramen and reporters broadcast the event for various media and domestic and international television networks worldwide.
