Fidel Castro to Meet with Pope Benedict XVI

HAVANA,  March 28, 2012.- Fidel Castro will meet today, at this capital, with Pope Benedict XVI, who´s ending his apostolic visit to Cuba.

In his most recent reflections, entitled “The Hard Times Facing Humanity”, the leader of the Cuban Revolution, advanced on a meeting between the Supreme Pontiff.

Cathedral of Havana will Light up to Welcome Pope Benedict XVI

The baroque facade of the Cathedral of Havana, Archidiocese of Havana, will wear lights and colors during March 25-27, from 7pm to 12am, to welcome Pope Benedict XVI.

The celebration, symbol of the jubilee for the presence of the Supreme Pontiff in Cuba, consists of a lights show called Arte Luz, by Italian-French artista, Gaspare Di Caro. The Catholic temple, located in the Cathedral of Havana, will be decorated with a espectacular design  of lights and images projected on the walls of the building making a unique desing.

The historic Revolution Square in Havana gets ready for the ceremony with Pope Benedict XVI, who´ll visit Cuba next March 26-28, 2012.

The Pope will be welcomed in Santiago de Cuba, where he´ll officiate a mass at the Revolution Square Antonio Maceo and will visit the National Sanctuary of the Virgin of Charity of Cobre.

Afterwards, the Pope will travel to Havana where he´ll hold an official meeting with Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, President of the Councils of State and Ministers. He will also meet with the Catholic Bishops of Cuba.
